Director of Policy and Government Relations
About Frontline Wildfire Defense
At Frontline Wildfire Defense, our mission is to protect homes, families, and communities from wildfire disasters. Our innovative wildfire defense system allows homeowners to track wildfires, receive critical alerts, and actively safeguard their properties using a remotely operated fire protection system. With multiple layers of redundancy, our system hydrates homes and surrounding areas to prevent ignition from flying embers—the #1 cause of structure loss during wildfires. We are a fast-growing team that has already achieved significant milestones in protecting homes across Northern and Southern California. Our team includes experienced engineers, product designers, and industry experts, and we are looking for a Director of Policy and Government Relations to drive wildfire resilience policies and regulatory initiatives.
About This Opportunity
As the Director of Policy and Government Relations, you will lead efforts to shape wildfire mitigation policies, influence building codes, and advocate for external wildfire sprinkler adoption at local, state, and federal levels. Your role will be crucial in fostering relationships with policymakers, fire agencies, and industry leaders to create safer, more resilient communities. This is a high-impact position with significant opportunities to drive legislative and regulatory change.
Location: LA Metro Area, San Francisco Bay Area, or Sacramento
Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments related to wildfire mitigation, building codes, insurance requirements, and home defense solutions.

- Draft policy briefs, position papers, and testimony for legislative and regulatory proceedings.
Government & Code Development Engagement
- Establish and maintain relationships with key government officials, fire safety regulators, insurance commissioners, and local planning agencies.
- Influence wildfire-related building codes and land-use policies to ensure communities rebuild with resilience in mind.

Strategic Planning
- Develop and execute a comprehensive government relations strategy that aligns with Frontline’s mission and growth goals.
- Identify opportunities to integrate wildfire defense technologies into state and federal funding programs.
- Collaborate with fire agencies, insurance providers, and community organizations to advance wildfire protection measures.
Stakeholder & Industry Engagement
- Build and manage relationships with wildfire policy experts, homebuilders, environmental groups, and disaster recovery organizations.
