Our innovative wildfire defense system allows homeowners to track wildfires, receive critical alerts, and actively safeguard their properties using a remotely operated fire protection system. With multiple layers of redundancy, our system hydrates homes and surrounding areas to prevent ignition from flying embers—the #1 cause of structure loss during wildfires.

Our team includes experienced engineers, product designers, and industry experts, and we are looking for a Certified Backflow Tester/Plumber to help drive our efforts.


About This Opportunity

MUST HAVE A CURRENT BACKFLOW CERTIFICATION TO APPLY
A list of current backflow certifications will be required.
As a Certified Backflow Tester/Plumber your essential role is to ensure the safety and efficiency of our Frontline Wildfire Defense systems. You will be responsible for performing inspections, tests, maintenance, repairs, replacements, ensuring adherence to local regulations and industry standards. This role requires a thorough understanding of plumbing systems, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.


Key Responsibilities

Testing Backflow Prevention Systems:

  • Perform yearly and regular inspections of backflow prevention devices to adhere to local regulations.
  • Ensure that test results are recorded precisely and that all documentation is kept up to date.
  • Provide compliance documentation and recommendations for ongoing maintenance.


Device Repair and Maintenance

  • Conduct scheduled maintenance to ensure devices are functioning correctly and comply with applicable regulations.
  • Diagnose and repair backflow prevention devices.
  • As needed, replace any defective or worn components to ensure that devices meet operational standards.


Plumbing

  • Capable of accurately installing water tie-in’s for ¾” - 2” water lines on all Frontline projects.
  • Plumbing maintenance for Frontline Systems when applicable.


Safety and Standards

  • Ensure all work follows safety guidelines, organizational procedures, and applicable local regulations.
  • Visit backflow protection installation sites to ensure new equipment is installed correctly and meets assembly standards
  • Stay informed of changes in backflow prevention regulations and the latest industry best practices.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Backflow Prevention Tester certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of backflow testing experience (working with backflow prevention devices, including testing, maintenance, and repair).
  • 5 years of experience as a Plumber in the construction industry.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Strong knowledge of local regulations regarding backflow prevention.
  • Ability to use hand tools and diagnostic software.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment including sensitivity test equipment, multi-meters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communication devices.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks associated with device repair.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
